ProStar Clevo P750ZM gaming laptop Review
Prostar Clevo has rethought, redesigned, and reengineered their wunderkind that serves as a true workstation and desktop replacement. The Prostar Clevo P750ZM custom built gaming laptop picks up where the P570WM left off, but takes things to a new level with an updated look, a lightweight chassis, and a respectable screen.
The P750ZM borrows one thing from its predecessor: processing power. The P750ZM offers desktop Haswell CPU options over other laptops’ mobile CPUs. The similarities end there, however, as this workhorse touts support for the new 970M and 980M video cards, as well as support for various Quadro cards for the professional-type whose application(s) may demand them. With the P750ZM utilizing the new Maxwell architecture from NVIDIA’s 900M lineup, performance potential is at an all time high with thermal activity being at an all time low!
As if having a desktop CPU and a powerful video card on the go wasn’t a nice enough offering, the laptop also boasts Intel’s Z97 chipset, support for dual channel DDR3 1866 RAM (up to 32 GB), is capable of RAID 0 or RAID 1, can utilize mSATA drives, and features a formidable audio setup courtesy of Onkyo. These, in addition, are complimented by a host of other features, including a fingerprint reader, Kensington lock, numerous video out ports, four USB 3.0 ports, one eSATA port (which doubles as a USB 3.0 port), a 2.0M FHD webcam, and several audio in/out jacks.
Apart from housing new hardware, Prostar Clevo P750ZM sports a new look and feel, as well. The new, lightweight chassis, along with an updated programmable backlit keyboard, delivers noteworthy aesthetic appeal, as well as cuts down considerably on weight compared to its predecessor. The cooling system has also been redesigned to keep noise as low as possible while still allowing for maximum airflow.
Prostar Clevo P750ZM custom built gaming laptop is a force to be reckoned with, for sure. It narrows the gap between tower computers and laptops, and is sure to be capable of handling some of the most demanding and extreme usage one can throw at a computer. The new design offers looks, power, and ergonomics, and it’s worth a look to anyone interested in either a high-end gaming laptop, or a portable workstation.
